Cariad Y Môr Charters is run by Ian Davies in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire.

I am Pembrokeshire born and bred and am extremely proud of our County and all we have to offer.

We have 186 miles of stunning coastline with most being part of National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

I have worked at sea most of my adult life. Starting in the Royal Navy then in the Commercial Sector and also Fisheries Protection for the last 6 years. During these times I have seen some extraordinary breath taking sights of different marine species from Whales and Porpoise to Dolphin Super pods, Leatherback Turtles and huge squadrons of Gannets diving into massive bait balls of Mackerel and Herring.

I want to be able to share and highlight this diverse environment on our doorstep to as many people as possible to make them aware of our fantastic but sometimes fragile ecosystems and how we can help conserve and protect this jewel of the British Isles.

This is where my idea for Cariad Y Môr Charters was born.

With our 9 mtr Cheetah Cat vessel CELTIC EXPLORER (which is coded for 10 passengers and 60 nautical miles does 30 knts if needed and holds all the latest safety and navigation equipment) we are able to get out and back to some of the wilder and more diverse areas and islands of our coastline.

I also wanted to offer a more immersive, safe and sometimes hands on experience of our waters, marine environment and its inhabitants hence our Safari Trips.

Our coastline and its waters are second to none and we are blessed with a hugely diverse archipelago of islands of the coast which rest in very nutrient rich and bio diverse waters that provide food and environments for many different species of fish and marine mammals including Seals, Dolphins, Porpoise, Seabirds and incredible arrays of stunning Jellyfish Species.

Further out in deeper waters of our coast we regularly see Minke Whales, Pilot Whales, Fin Whales. Huge super pods of Common Dolphins, Packs of Blue fin Tuna on the hunt and incredible Shark species including our beautiful Blue Shark, Porbeagle Shark and Threshers which on occasion have been known to leap right out of the water!

So please let me welcome you aboard for one of our trips out of the beautiful Saundersfoot Harbour to experience this magical environment which is our wonderful Pembrokeshire Coast, whether it’s a family mackerel trip or an all day immersive snorkel safari with Blue Sharks out into the Celtic deeps, I look forward to meeting you all.
